Across the Potomac from the Nation's capital
Even for us longtime residents, there's a real rush that comes from seeing the president's motorcade zip down Penn Ave or watching Air Force One lift from the White House lawn. Politics aside, living in the nation's capital—on the pulse of the country's heartbeat—can be a real thrill. We are eternally grateful to have this bounty of history, abundance of beauty—both natural and manmade—and access to world-class cultural institutions, many of which are free (hello, Smithsonian museums and National Zoo).
Our Old Town address, however, means that we have all of this goodness at our fingertips, plus we can retire each evening to a quiet "home" in a charming Alexandria neighborhood. Our boutique hotel in the DC area is lucky enough to count itself the closest to Reagan National Airport, and our proximity to the King Street Metro Station means downtown D.C. is just a quick ride away.
